Fast-rising singer and songwriter, CupidSZN begins his career officially with the famous record label —Mavin, which births his debut EP — "MYTH-ERA". Born Stevenson Njoku Anyianachiso, his journey to music began at an early stage of his life. His father, who saw the talent helped him accelerate his music journey taking a drastic decision relocating from Port Harcourt to Lagos and fate eventually landed him in Mavin. The youngster releases an EP testing waters without a single, the audacious unveil only Mavin pulls. He dabbles in art while seeking the perfect bearing to his sound. His songwriting skill needs to be sharpened as his music is wordy with lyrics and rapidly-sung.

Unveiling at Mavin

The five-track EP, leaning heavily into Afrobeats tropes, the songwriting struggles to leave a mental impact. The EP is filled with cliché and the lyrics barely hold weight. While a few tracks elevate listeners' mood, others could be used to pass a busy evening. The auditory impact remains fleeting.

The EP opens with Palava — a slow-tempo dancehall rhythm that shines in mellow vibes. While Ozedikus produced the track, his falsetto and chunky storytelling didn't save the track.

The melody-heavy Tuka Tuka elevates the mood as it is produced by Prestige, which resonates with listeners. The track's two-minute runtime saves the day as the echo in the chorus adds flavour.

The theme is clear on Otula as he compares himself with his lover's ex. He delves the superficial persona theme dwelling on erotic lyrics. The fast-tempo track was produced by RAGEE
He maintains a fast-paced singing on Kamal Momoh's fast-tempo instrumental in Zesty Money. This track was not spared from the empty, ridiculous contemporary Afrobeats songwriting style that could seem amusing. He sings: The way I love you, you must be Loveth. He digs deeper into the already layered theme from the previous track. The track bubbles in Afro-pop.

He leaves a heartfelt thank-you note for his family and friends on Famous for their immense support and contribution to his career. His emotional vocals shine in the track as he employs Damie Damie instrumental. The EP closes with Famous as the background singers on the cut shifts the mood to be introspective.
This creates an alignment of harmony when the first and last track are juxtaposed.

MYTH-ERA EP sees CupidSZN in portamento, gliding across from slow to mid, and fast-tempo, yet Tuka Tuka remains his strongest rollout in the EP which has his best mixed reverb vocal as it shines in the mid-tempo Afrobeats instrumental. Famous comes next, with the emotions it evokes on the slow-tempo instrumental.

At 21, the youngster with over 300 recorded songs stashed up in his hard drive still has a lot in store for the future. However, he should carefully select songs with a similar theme, vocal texture, and complementary tracks to release in the years to come as projects like albums or singles. The best and most strategic are only needed to define his style in the ever-changing music industry.
