Legendary singer and songwriter Innocent 'Tuface' Idibia, also known as 2Baba releases a new single — "Celebrate". Following the release of his previous single, 'Salary 4 Life' last August, "Celebrate" follows suit in December as 2Baba remains sturdy in highlighting social needs and interpersonal values in this new single.

The four-minute clip produced by Yung Willis is heavily a dancehall rhythm, with fast-tempo kicks and synthesizers. 2Baba laces it with his mid-paced verse and mellow melodic tone. This creates a slight breather for listeners to nod along. This track sees 2Baba flowing on an old-fashioned instrumental that evokes nostalgia of the second generation of Afrobeats genre in the late 2000s and early 2010s. He delivers verses and chorus in simple rhymes.

Thematically, he delves into human behaviour exploring the right attitude to adopt in society. The chorus explains this as he sings in the lyric: if person do well, I congratulate eh. No time for hating, na to celebrate eh. Celebrate eh.
On the first verse, he focuses on the end goal for human needs. He emphasizes they might not be the same but similar.
He reiterates this on the second verse as he proceeds to focus on the consequences of envy and jealousy. The lyric: envy and jealousy dey strangulate eh.
He concludes the third verse with a stern warning, as there is a limit to his level of tolerance.
The chorus brightens the mood with the echoing undertones which have a call-and-resposnse. The enchanting voices add flavour to the track.

Decades after the renaissance of Afrobeats, "Celebrate" relives those vibes with the conscious lyrics and lived experience. The track shines in the changing of words of the lyrics in the chorus as they all rhyme to fit the theme; however, the mixing of the track gives it an old school mastering. This questions whether 2Baba finds it difficult to evolve or he is hell-bent on sticking to his old style to consolidate his legendary status. What are your thoughts on this?
