Nigerian prominent composer, singer, and songwriter Patoranking expands his discography with a new single he calls "No Jonze".
This new release is a complementary track of his 2020 hit single, 'Abule'. "No Jonze" has similar visual and thematic composition but different sonic foundation from 'Abule'. The former is filled with dancehall elements as beats, while the latter is solely afrobeats with melancholic strings and mellow piano.

The fast-tempo instrumental was produced by DeeYaso, while Patoranking laced it with his fast-paced verse and hook. The jocular part of the chorus that came in as a refrain to mimic Patoranking; slowed the track down a bit by creating room for the interlude. It served almost like an undertone.

The visual on YouTube garnering over 4 million views was deeply rooted in caricature and concert. It depicted the entertainment culture of Africans particularly, Nigerians in costume and choreography. "No Jonze" has made internet users jump on the music to create a trend by displaying mind-blowing creativity across social media.

The simple rhythm and easy rhymes Patoranking uses illuminates the track, however, the too much slang deeply rooted in a particular Pidgin dialect makes wider audience often misunderstand the lyrics of the track. This limits the crossover appeal to a global audience.
