Mellissa & MOLIY's Sibling Magic Shines on "Goodboy (Kweku)" with Joey B: A Sweet Afrobeats Romance
The Montgomerys (Mellissa & Moliy) team up with Joey B to serve "Goodboy (Kweku)" single. A harmonious blessing from both sisters as they serve their verses in a similar vocal texture. While Mellissa and Moliy are closely related as sisters, making music together is a glide path to more classic projects.

The track is illuminated by Mellissa's silky low vocals and Moliy's soft voice and the laid-back verse delivery of Joey B. The Afrobeats track was produced by Chopstix and had the three singers elevate it with melodies. The buzzing trumpet interweaves the track to create room for the chorus and complements the backup undertone, perfect harmony for listeners.

Thematically, the artistes explore the romantic narrative. They all show how unique they are and want to be appreciated – which leads to obsession. This is seen in the lyric: For your love I go do tattoo. I go die, times two.

The three-minute runtime blended Twi, Pidgin, and English. It had a catchy hook and chorus as Mellissa had a strong opening in the cut, Joey B was heard in the second verse, while Moliy ended the verse. Mellow gear, it is! The vocal mixing results in overly sharp mastering —making the vocals feel almost unnatural, likewise the production elements which distort the verses occasionally. While the creative direction from the retro-inspired cover art, lyrics, and production were well-polished, I cannot help but think about the highly anticipated Mellissa EP slated for 2026.
