Over two years since his last release, he reveals what he has been exploring the break — sensual escapades, clearly. Mellissa "Tattoo" ft. Blaqbonez Review by Roy OC Chukwu

Image
Mellissa Tattoo Review by Roy OC Chukwu.  Mellissa , a fast-rising act from Ghana teamed up with Blaqbonez , a Nigerian powerhouse to release ' Tattoo '. Here, Mellissa deepens her singing style and genre by fusing R&B into Afrosounds — she calls  Afrosexy . Produced by Mellissa and Black Culture , the track opens with a suspenseful humming layered in the sound of the trumpet ; that ignites the jam and weaves through the entire cut. The downbeat and slow tempo enhance Mellissa's voice to carry the mood, but as Blaqbonez steps in, he brightens it up with his bridge and verse. "Tattoo" explores the theme of two former lovers who still yearn for each other. And they wished that one last time lasted longer. Mellissa and Blaqbonez complemented each other flawlessly in their verses. Mellissa kept her verse in simple composure while Blaqbonez took a different flow; to kill monotony — depicting the track's versatile pulse. Lines like " Ink me, ink me up, ...

EbuDera Happy Review by Roy OC Chukwu

Image
EbuDera , an underground gospel artiste from the basin of Nigeria known for infusing gospel, even the slightest form into afrobeats .  His recent release ' Happy ' is not removed from this — as it would pass as just a street hop even. A birthday gift he thought to gift himself and alongside his fans to share with him the happiness The Almighty has given him — a symbol of thanksgiving. Amidst the danceable and melodious tune, is the fact that he incorporated a nursery school rhyme into this piece. Taking back his audience to when they were kindergarteners. In the 162 seconds clip, the log drums give a euphoric peak in the chorus. The genre is almost like Amapiano , but more of a dancehall instrument with an element of just two Amapiano log drums that spanned through the bridge and chorus. An entire and pure amapiano would have been the best for this piece by bringing out the rhythmic beauty extensively.  Happy Birthday, Champ 🏆. https://audiomack.com/ebuder...

Review of Smsfrank RoyMathz 's Baddest Boy Cover by Roy OC Chukwu Smsfrank RoyMathz gets accolades from a girl whose intents were almost a felony to him and were below his moral standards. His lines went hard on her and on weak men. Still representing The SET in the cover he talks about how his studio session usually goes. He is of the notion that a beautiful tune does not ever die. https://audiomack.com/roy-oc-chukwu/song/baddest-boy-cover?share-user-id=23460906   8 March, 2024 Roy Chukwu Writez

Blaqbonez's Wetego Review by Roy OC Chukwu

Image
W for Wetego Review by Roy Writez Blaqbonez Wetego Cover Art Blaqbonez teamed up with his record label mate, Young Jonn (The Wicked Producer) with Penthauze Boss, Phyno Fino to give us a calm tune, W for Wetego.  The soothing tenor backup's of Blaqbonez in the beginning of the piece was needed to drive a sense of belonging that he owned the song. Well thought of, I must say. ' Wetego ', an Afrosounds genre, is a phonetic and colloquiual style for ' nwete ego ' in Igbo language; which literally means 'bring money' in English language. The covert art and lyrics explained better. The aim of an artist is for his art to reach the right audience and even more audiences. The three artists came with timeless verses while their fans paid loyalty. 'Wetego' garnered the appeal on the media, all thanks to DJ 808 for giving the beat a mid-tempo rhythm which allowed ad-lib of any sort and made room for the mildest vocal range to enable the mixing and master...
