After releasing the "Bad Boy" single earlier this year, Nigerian trapper, singer, and songwriter, Superboy Cheque, popularly known as Cheque released a new single titled—"Desperado". The Amapiano-heavy instrumental was produced by Jaysynth and Fizzybeat. It had a similar production in kicks and synths as "Back Outside" he had with his Boss, Phyno. The rhymes and calm echo of the chorus illuminate the track. Also released under his Chequemate Records, the track suffers from conflicting cover art on several platforms.

The theme focuses on a young man whose goals and decisions are focused on finding greener pastures. While elevation comes next after that. As he sings:
We dey ball like there's no tomorrow o
We dey celebrate, everyday is a holiday
I cannot delay, I'm going all the way
If e no be money, I don't know what to say

On "Desperado", Cheque makes a better comeback following the backlash from listeners on 'Bad Boy' chorus. This two-minute cut resonates with listeners.
