Review: Mr Eazi Drops Dancehall Banger 'Dance Pon Me' with Mixpak

Dance Pon Me Cover Art

Following the release of his introspective EP, Maison Rouge, Mr Eazi teams up with Mixpak for the recent release of the single "Dance Pon Me". It offers a hint of what their joint forthcoming project might be about.

Mr Eazi

The track, co-produced by famous Jamaican hitmaker and producer Dre Skull and four-time Grammy-Award Winning Producer, Cadenza — the track delivers a strong dancehall rhythm, which is a genre that resonates with Black culture across the globe and garnered over 3 million views within 10 days of the release.

In the two-minute clip, Mr Eazi flows entirely in a Jamaican accent — delivering adlibs on the bridge, and background vocals on the outro, which amplify the energetic instrumental. "Dance Pon Me" showcases an infusion of West African and Jamaican sound crafted for a global audience.
